December 21, 2021
Our First Date
We met on Hinge and had our first date on the Winter Solstice, a rainy Tuesday at a local brewery in the Haight-Ashbury neighborhood.
April 2022
First Trip to Yosemite
Our first solo trip together was a springtime visit to Yosemite where we hiked to the top of Yosemite Falls and almost got stuck in a surprise snowstorm.
August 2022
First International Trip
Our relationship went international β we visited Oaxaca and Puerto Escondido in Mexico and experienced the local cuisine, mezcal, art, and OTC antibiotics.
July 2023
Marathoned Together
In 2023, we trained together and ran the Oakland half marathon and the San Francisco full marathon, finishing at the same time. Oh the hills!
November 2023
Barcelona with Family
We met up with Jake's mom, Linda in Barcelona and spent the week visiting beautiful cathedrals and exploring the Gothic Quarter.
May 2024
Moved In Together
We each gave up our bachelor pad 1-bedroom apartments and moved in together, joining our lives more fully and learning a lot about love in the process.
December 2024
Went Out West
We took a road trip with Madeline's family to Big Bend National Park in West Texas and crossed the border into Boquillas del Carmen on "well-trained" donkeys.
May 2025
Tried Out Van Life
We rented a van in Boise and road-tripped through Idaho, Montana, and Wyoming, hitting all the national parks, roadside curiosities, and wildlife along the way. Bonus: spending time with the Goulets in Sun Valley.

We Got Engaged!
Jake planned an amazing and elaborate engagement full of whimsical surprises, and Madeline got the ring of her dreams.
And now we're getting married.
